Engaged Marketing Co. has an immediate need to hire a Web and Graphic Designer. This person will be responsible for assisting the Multimedia Designer and Brand Strategist in graphic and web design aspects within Engaged Marketing Co. He/She will also build and sustain an Engaged reputation for quality, reliability and customer satisfaction. This position reports to the owner. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Build and deploy new WordPress websites
- Understand and implement the integration of themes and plugins such as Elementor and WooCommerce
- Creates website architecture and site maps
- Proficient in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and PHP
- Knowledge of Adobe programs such as photoshop, illustrator and indesign
- Design and manage website back-end including database and server integration
- Up to date on SEO best practices
- Aware of emerging technologies and industry trends and has ability to apply them to operations and activities
- Meets with clients to discuss website design and function
- Conducts WordPress training with clients
- Understands website maintenance and performance
- Help to craft proposal direction for design and website projects
- Has ability to set up, transfer and manage process of hosting accounts including editing of DNS records
- Client facing and willing to be involved in creative process
- Collaborates with other members
- Assists with repetitive branding and social media projects
- Play an active role in the Engaged brand and community presence
WordPress Developer Requirments
- At least three years of experience
- Associates degree or higher
- Proven work experience as a WordPress developer
- Knowledge of code versioning tools including Git, Mercurial, and SVN
- Knowledge of Adobe Illustrator
- Experience working with debugging tools such as Chrome Inspector and Firebug.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize accordingly
- Mindful of deadlines
- Copywriting abilities
- Good communication skills
- Willingness to be challenged and troubleshoot
- Positive attitude
- Knowledge of front-end technologies including CSS3, JavaScript, HTML5, and jQuery a plus
A portfolio of creative projects will be requested. Pay based on experience.
